On 2023-04-21 in Strasbourg, Deliver-X was officially kicked off.
- GS1 did a predeccessor project called cloud4log, which had technical information in a "Lösungsskizze" but that was replaced by a whole github repo
- Deliver-X can not be based on Cross Industry Invoice (CII) but has to be based on Cross Industry Despatch Advice (CIDA)
- We had a look at the business requirements specifications of the Cross Industry Despatch and Receive Process, and additionally Dominique circulated the UN/CEFACT White Paper on
Integrated Track and Trace for Multimodal Transportation Trade Facilitation and E-business(UN/CEFACT) | UNECE - there are four documents
- Frachtbrief (EMX)
- Lieferavis (Despatch note)
- Lieferschein (Delivery note)
- Empfangsschein (Receipt note)
- Deliver-X will most likely not cover EMX, or despatch note, but if possible a certain compatibility with EMX should be kept in mind, so that they can e.g. refer to each other.
- Fundamentally those are not part of the trade, but of the logistics "world", i.e. a delivery does not have to originate from a seller, does not have to be delivered to the direct buyer, or be related to a sale at all
- However, for everything bein specified, it should be evaluated if is part of the procurement process, and if it is not, it may be of lower priority
- The idea to start specifying the "easiest" (receipt note) was discussed but discarded to start with a more complete one
- Given experience with Order-X, a timeline of even less than a year might be realistic to finalize a 1.0 of the spec
- A press release with a public invitation to contribute will be written in english, and published in french by FNFE, and german by AWV
